Ambitus for Zumtobel wins FX Award

Rainlight Studio won the Lighting Product category with its stunning Ambitus in collaboration with Austrian manufacturer Zumtobel. Yorgo Lykouria, founder and creative director of Rainlight, collaborated with Zumtobel, over a ten-year period to create Ambitus, distinctive by its compact profile and circular shape to emit maximum light distribution, in a sector dominated by linear forms.

Ambitus’ balanced synergy of design and technical sophistication has resulted in a beautiful as well as highly efficient and effective luminaire. This luminaire’s ring shape means light is distributed almost 360 degrees, supplying maximum efficiency and quality of light. The sophisticated technical equipment remains hidden from the view without visible electrical wires, this pendant luminaire achieves a harmonious lighting effect throughout.

This award is in addition to other recent successes of Ambitus with award wins such as Red Dot’s ‘Best of the best’ product and the Gold award at the Design awards, presented by Driven x Design in the Lighting Design category.
